Greetings Parents/Guardians!
Welcome to the 2017-2081 school year at Lenart! My name is Emily Bus and I am so excited to begin my second year at Lenart. I am a native of southwest Michigan but have been living in the Chicagoland area for many years. I have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Michigan State University as well as a Master’s degree in Literacy from DePaul University. I have more than a decade of teaching experience and I am so excited to be working with you and your child this school year.
As a case manager/ diverse learners teacher, I will be providing support and assistance to your child both inside and outside of the classroom and in accordance with his/her 504 or IEP plan. Additionally, I will be closely collaborating with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and other special education personnel. We will work together to provide appropriate instructional supports, accommodations and modifications for your child and to ensure his/her success this school year.
I will be notifying you by letter and/or by phone when your child’s IEP/504 meeting is scheduled. If you are unable to attend a scheduled meeting, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can find another time to meet. Your input and attendance at IEP/504 meetings is so important and I know that by working together, we can all help your child succeed.
